Solid value for my money

I was looking for an affordable way to learn to code and Devlife School popped up. I decided to try the Web Development Fundamentals course. I got a student discount which made it even more appealing. The content was comprehensive for a beginner, and I felt I learned a lot for what I paid. Definitely worth the investment if you're on a budget and want to start in web dev.

Loved the JavaScript Intensive!

Oh my goodness, the JavaScript Intensive course was fantastic! I learned so much in such a short time. The content was engaging, and the practical exercises really helped solidify my understanding. I feel so much more confident in my JavaScript skills now. This was exactly what I needed to boost my career prospects. I'm already looking at their other courses; I'll definitely be back!

Consistently reliable learning

This is my third course with Devlife School; I previously did Frontend Developer and now just finished the Node.js Course. They've been consistently good. The structure is familiar, the platform is easy to navigate, and the instructors are generally engaging. I keep coming back because I know what to expect: quality content and practical skills. This time, the mentorship sessions felt even more personalized than my previous courses, which was a nice improvement. Still a great place to learn.

Good course, small issues

I took the React JS Course and found the content pretty solid. The instructors explained concepts clearly, and the projects were helpful for practice. Delivery of course materials was instant, which was great. My main gripe is that sometimes it took a bit longer than expected to get feedback on assignments, like 2-3 days instead of the promised 24 hours. Overall, it was a good value for the price, but faster feedback would make it better.

Learned a lot, pretty chill

I just finished their HTML CSS Layout course. It was pretty good! I learned a bunch of stuff I didn't know before. The lessons were easy to follow and not too overwhelming. It just felt like a solid way to learn without too much stress. I'd recommend it if you're starting out.

Thinking of signing up for the Junior Developer Bootcamp, but curious about job placement. Do they actually help you land a job or is it just resume tips?

I Ian W. 2 weeks ago
They have an internship program and help with interview prep. My friend got a gig through their connections.

They do offer career coaching and portfolio review sessions, which can be really helpful. It's not a guarantee, but they definitely try to assist.

My friend mentioned they got some kind of grant or something for their training. Is that a common thing or super rare?

R Rachel Hall 1 month ago
They do have grants sometimes, especially for certain programs or if you meet specific criteria. It's not for everyone, but worth looking into.

Could be a student discount or something similar too. They have a few ways to get money off, like if you pay in full.

Are their certifications legit? Like, do employers actually recognize them or is it just a piece of paper?

R Richard Flores 1 week ago
My company definitely looked at my Devlife certificate when I applied. They seemed to know the program.

I mean, it's not a university degree, but it shows you've completed a structured program. The portfolio you build is probably more important to be honest.

How does Devlife School compare to say, HTML Academy? Is it more hands-on or theory-based?

L Leah J. 1 day ago
Devlife felt pretty hands-on to me, lots of coding tasks and project work. My buddy who did HTML Academy said it was good too, but maybe a bit more self-paced.

I think Devlife focuses a lot on getting you job-ready, so it's practical. HTML Academy is good too, but Devlife might have more structured mentorship.

Anyone know if you can get your money back if the course just isn't a good fit after a couple of weeks?

J Josh Sanchez 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I think there's a refund policy if you drop out early. Check their terms, but I'm pretty sure it's possible.

They have a process for refunds if it's not working out. Just gotta make sure you do it within their timeframe.
